Pet peeve #124

Our staff area is not closed off from the rest of the library and today I had to go back there and shush the staff because their talking and laughing was disturbing patrons.

    A variation on that: when a coworker is chatting with you when you're on the desk, and a patron approaches, and the coworker doesn't shut up.

      Ooh, definitely! Fortunately, that rarely happens at my library.
