A disagreement
Two patrons, both middle-aged, came up to my desk. Patron 1: I'd like to get him a library card. He needs one so he can get on the computer. Patron 2: No, I don't. I don't want a card.
I've read about some initiatives to give cards to kids at birth, or to make a kid's school ID also be a library card, but I can't think of a way to make an ADULT have one against his will.
I suppose you can't give a person a library card against his will...
